Brief Introduction :
The Ministry of Parliament plays an important role in coordinating and regulating the relationship between the legislative and executive powers with the aim of ensuring the harmonious functioning of the state. This ministry oversees the entire process of legislation, introducing bills in both houses of Parliament, drafting bills, studies and reports of standing committees and giving final approval after assent to the President, resulting in I am declared the law of the land.
Apart from the above, the Prime Minister’s Public Relations and Grievances Wing (PM’s PA&GW) of the Ministry works 24 hours a day to redress public grievances. It receives thousands of applications/complaints from all corners of the country and forwards them to the respective heads of Ministries, Departments, Divisions and Organizations for rectification. The same goes for public lighting.
The Chief Election Commissioner and the members of the Election Commission are appointed by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
